Administrative Review
Overview
Administrative review allows certain refusals to be challenged on the basis that the Home Office made a casework error. It is a paper-based review with strict deadlines, and no new evidence can generally be submitted.
How we assist
- Analysing the refusal to identify reviewable casework errors
- Advising whether administrative review is the right remedy
- Drafting precise grounds and lodging the review in time
Important to know
Administrative review is only available for certain decision types. Where it is not available — or fails — alternatives may include a fresh application or judicial review.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the deadline?
Typically 14 days from receipt of the decision if you are in the UK. Act quickly.
Can I submit new documents?
Generally no — the review examines errors in the original decision. Where new evidence is needed, a different remedy is usually more appropriate.
